Long ago, this land was used for growing cotton. But cotton farming declined. Then, people started growing vegetables. These vegetables became famous as “Sendo Green Produce”.

The Left Bank Road Bridge connects to a place with a fascinating school history. Left Bank Road Elementary School was founded here in 1875. It was a joint effort by the Left Bank Road and Nagata villages. The school later merged and changed names. It eventually became the current Jotoh, Katano, and Karasuno Elementary Schools. A stone monument marks this “Place of Origin”. You can find it near Sendo Fudo Temple’s gate.
