Ever wonder how maize becomes the flour for ugali? Right here in Arusha stands the Limmilling Machine. It is a key player in Tanzania’s food industry.

The Limmilling Machine operates daily turning maize into flour. It is open from 8 AM to 7 PM. It runs from Monday to Sunday. The Limmilling Machine is privately operated. It stands on Kanisani Street in Sokon I Ward.

This particular Limmilling Machine uses a 30T/24H maize milling machine. This means it can process 30 tons of maize every 24 hours. The machine efficiently extracts the flour. It yields about 75 to 85% fine flour. The rest becomes maize bran and fodder flour.

Hongdefa Machinery is a well known manufacturer of maize milling machines. They have installed lines in Mbeya, Arusha and Dodoma. Currently their engineers are installing a new line in Arusha. After that they will install another in Dar-Es-Salaam.

The Limmilling Machine uses advanced technology. Stainless steel is used for double moisture dampers. Degerminators remove the germ and bran from the maize. This ensures the production of pure white flour. Magnetic separators and quality roller mills are also used. The pipes in the milling section are stainless steel.

The maize flour from the Limmilling Machine is used to make ugali. Ugali is a staple food in Tanzania. Maize grits are also produced for snacks. Maize bran can make animal feeds. Even the maize germ can make oil.

The process at the Limmilling Machine involves several steps. It starts with cleaning then degerminating. After that it goes to milling and sifting. Finally it ends with packing. The maize passes through a gravity classification stoner. This removes any stones. A moisture damper controls the water content. Degerminators then peel the maize. Milling and sifting produce super white flour. This ensures high-quality maize flour.

The Limmilling Machine is more than just a machine. It supports local food production. It provides essential ingredients. It contributes to the community’s well-being.
