Mount Tanigawa is accessible by public transport. From Jomo-Kogen Station, a bus takes about 50 minutes to the Tanigawa Ropeway. From Minakami Station, the bus ride is about 25 minutes.
The ropeway operates at different hours. From April to November, it runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. On Sundays and holidays it opens earlier at 7:00 a.m. December to March the hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A round-trip ticket costs 3,000 yen for adults. It costs 1,500 yen for children.
