“A trio of majestic silhouettes against the horizon.” That’s how I’d describe the view from Drei-Schlösser-Blick. Here, high above the landscape between Braunsdorf and Altenhain, we stand at a point once used by the Nationale Volksarmee. They built a lookout post into the high wall. Today, this spot rewards us with the breathtaking sight of three castles: Augustusburg, Lichtenwalde, and Sachsenburg. The Drei-Schlösser-Blick offers a panorama that stretches far into the distance. Imagine the soldiers stationed here, scanning the horizon. Their purpose was military surveillance. Now, we come to appreciate the beauty and history this vista holds. The castles stand as silent witnesses to centuries past. From this Drei-Schlösser-Blick, their stories seem to intertwine.
