RCSI Reservoir House

In 2018, the RCSI Reservoir House underwent a significant transformation. The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, or RCSI, invested €925,000 in renovating its student training facility within Reservoir House. This renovation focused on the ground and second floors. The project had a tight two-month deadline. It needed to be completed while students were on summer break. The work also had to be carefully coordinated around the full-time staff still working in the building. RCSI Reservoir House, located on Ballymoss Road in Sandyford, Dublin 18, is more than just a building. It’s a vital part of RCSI’s history and its ongoing mission in healthcare education. The renovations included removing internal walls, floor coverings, and ceilings. They installed new glazed partitions, stud partitions, ceilings, and flooring. The project also upgraded the fireproofing and implemented new mechanical and electrical systems. The RCSI Reservoir House serves as a training facility for future healthcare professionals. It stands as a testament to RCSI’s dedication to providing cutting-edge education. RCSI has been a cornerstone of medical education in Ireland for over 200 years. Founded in 1784 to train surgeons, RCSI now offers a wide range of healthcare education. It provides training at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. RCSI also houses the Institute of Leadership (IoL). This is a not-for-profit school focused on healthcare management and medical education. The IoL, located within RCSI Reservoir House, further solidifies its role as a center for healthcare advancement.
