This magnificent structure isn’t just a temple. It’s a vibrant heart of the San Diego Hindu community. Established in 2000 the Shiva Vishnu Temple of San Diego serves the devotional cultural and spiritual needs of the community. It adheres to distinctly Vedic traditions.
The temple’s architecture is a testament to traditional Indian design. The Garbagraha houses the three presiding deities: Ganesha Venkateswara and Shiva. Devotees can perform the traditional Parikrama a circumambulation around the deities. A separate structure houses the Navagrahas offering another opportunity for this sacred ritual. Every detail reflects a deep reverence for Vedic traditions.
The original Vigrahas the sacred statues of Ganesha Balaji and Shiva were crafted in Panchaloha a five-metal alloy. The world-renowned temple architect Padmasri Ganapathy Sthapathy of Kancheepuram designed and created them in 2001. Later installations of Moola Vigrahas main statues for the three deities were completed by 2007 thanks to the generous contributions of San Diego devotees.
