The Thánh thất Bình Chánh, completed in 2001, is a relatively recent addition to the Caodai landscape. Yet, its design, echoing the main temple in Tây Ninh, connects it to a rich history. The three-tiered structure speaks volumes about the Caodai belief system. The ground floor bustles with activity, serving as a meeting place for followers and offices for the management. Ascend to the first floor, and you’ll find a serene space for worship. Here, the intricate décor and a balcony overlooking Trần Văn Giàu street create a tranquil atmosphere. The second floor, the heart of the Thánh thất Bình Chánh, houses the main sanctuary. Look closely, and you’ll see elements like the Hiệp Thiên Đài (the Harmony Terrace), the Cửu Trùng Đài (Nine Levels Terrace), and the Bát Quái Đài (Eight Trigrams Terrace). These architectural features, drawn from the main temple, represent core tenets of Caodaism. This design signifies a microcosm of the universe, bringing celestial harmony down to earth. The vibrant colors and intricate details, like the twin dragon and lotus-shaped pillars, add to the sense of awe. The pillars symbolize the Đại Hội Long Hoa (Great Meeting of Dragons and Flowers), a pivotal event in Caodai eschatology. As we stand before the Thánh thất Bình Chánh, we’re reminded of the Caodai emphasis on unity and reverence.
