The neighboring villages of Eilbek and Barmbek belonged to the Heiligengeist-Hospital in Hamburg. The flooded land included not just Barmbek farmland. It also covered an important ford between Barmbek and Wandsbek.
This dispute eventually ended. A boundary stone called the Rantzau stone marks the settlement. This stone is from 1573. It sits where Eilbeker Weg meets Brauhausstrasse or Mu00fchlenstrasse. The mill which later became a flax mill operated until 1907. It then burned down.
Today Mu00fchlenteichpark is a vibrant green space. It is part of a larger green corridor along the Wandse river. The Eichtalpark and the Wandsbek Botanical Special Garden are also part of this green corridor. Since 2011 the park has undergone a transformation. A new playground with a playhouse has been built. New benches and plants have been added too. This renewal is part of a larger redevelopment project. The neighboring Brauhausviertel is being transformed. Many new homes are being built where businesses once stood.
