Did you know that the Greater Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church started with humble beginnings? It all began in 1935 with a dedicated prayer band gathering in homes. They eventually established the Greater Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church. The church found its first home on Paul Quinn, a plot of land purchased from Lonnie and Ruth Mason. Imagine a simple tent with dirt floors. That was the first structure of the Greater Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church. It was a far cry from the brick-and-mortar structure we see today. Over the years, the church expanded with extensions and enlargements mirroring its growing congregation. In 1978, under the leadership of Rev. James Roy Jackson, a new church building was erected. This ambitious project was entirely funded by cash a testament to the dedication and generosity of the church community. Finally, in 1990, the congregation moved into their new sanctuary. The legacy of the Greater Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church is one of faith, perseverance, and community. It’s a story that continues to inspire and uplift.
