Wasn’t it Reverend Wesley M Snodgrass who laid the cornerstone of Faith Presbyterian Church? This very spot holds the legacy of a small group of believers. Their faith built not just a church but a community. Faith Presbyterian Church started humbly. It wasn’t always this large building. The first services were in the Papillion American Legion Hall. Imagine 35 families gathered there. Their hope was strong. They dreamed of a permanent place of worship. Their dream took shape. A building campaign followed. The slogan was “Build with Faith”. The groundbreaking ceremony was in 1962. Less than a year later the congregation doubled in size to 140 individuals. The church was chartered on April 15 1962. The first services in the new sanctuary were in 1963. The official dedication was in October of the same year. By 1967 membership soared to 537 members. This church wasn’t just built with bricks and mortar. It was built with faith. It was a testament to the dedication of its founding members. Many pastors served Faith Presbyterian Church throughout its history. Reverend Snodgrass served until 1971. Reverend Richard H Skelley followed. He oversaw the first building addition completed in 1978. In 1984 the name changed to Faith Presbyterian Church. The “United” was dropped. The church continued to grow. More additions were built. A Family Life Center a library music rooms and classrooms were added. This was the third expansion. In 2002 Faith Church celebrated its 40th anniversary. The church expanded its youth ministry. It included young adults and evangelism. Pastor after pastor guided this church. Each left their mark. Faith Presbyterian Church continues to thrive. It’s a living testament to faith perseverance and community. Look around you. Feel the spirit of this place. This isn’t just a building. It’s a living legacy. A story of unwavering belief and enduring community. Faith Presbyterian Church stands as a beacon of hope.
