Gazing across the shimmering waters of the Arabian Gulf, have you ever wondered about that mesmerizing island just off the coast? That, my friends, is Bluewaters Island. A marvel of engineering and a testament to Dubai’s audacious spirit. Bluewaters Island isn’t just a patch of reclaimed land. It’s a vibrant hub of entertainment, luxury, and breathtaking views, all just a stone’s throw from the Jumeirah Beach Residence coastline. Officially opened in November 2018, this man-made marvel was dreamed up by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and brought to life by Meraas Holding. Construction began in 2013, transforming sand and rock into a AED 6 billion oasis. Bluewaters Island boasts ten mid-rise residential buildings, each a picture of modern elegance, rising no more than fifteen stories high. But what truly sets Bluewaters Island apart is Ain Dubai, the world’s tallest Ferris wheel. Since its completion in October 2021, this 250-meter behemoth has dwarfed its predecessors, the High Roller in Las Vegas and the planned New York Wheel. Designed and constructed by Hyundai Contracting and Starneth Engineering, Ain Dubai offers a panoramic vista of Dubai’s iconic skyline. Imagine soaring above the city in one of its 48 capsules, each capable of carrying up to 1,400 passengers at a time. From this dizzying height, you’ll glimpse the Burj Al Arab, the Palm Jumeirah, and the sprawling Dubai Marina. And for those seeking a touch of celebrity sparkle, Bluewaters Island also houses Madame Tussauds Dubai, the first in the Middle East. Opened in September 2021, it features over 90 wax figures, from Bollywood stars to world leaders, all meticulously crafted to capture their essence. But Bluewaters Island isn’t just about towering structures and famous faces. It’s a place to stroll along the ground level, exploring over 200 retail, food, and beverage outlets. It’s a place to relax at the five-star Banyan Tree Dubai resort, formerly Caesars Palace Dubai, which reopened in November 2023. Bluewaters Island is more than just an island; it’s an experience. An experience that seamlessly blends luxury living with world-class entertainment, all set against the backdrop of Dubai’s stunning skyline.
