Pastor Han Chung-ki calls it a youthful church at 20. He envisions 20 more years of growth and hope.
In 1963, Pastor Han Chung-ki was born in Miryang. He was the eldest of four children. At age five his family moved to Busan for better education. He fell ill with 암. He received care at a Catholic hospital. Later his family attended Dongil Church. There, he became active in SFC a student Christian movement. This solidified his faith. He started his theological journey.
He says that he accepted Jesus naturally through the Bible. SFC greatly influenced him. It inspired him to consider campus ministry. He served as the national SFC president in his final year of university. A student’s sudden death cast a shadow over a summer retreat. The student came from an underprivileged background. He had a deep faith. This event deeply affected Pastor Han. He visited the student’s mother. He was struck by her composure. He witnessed God’s grace.
He dedicated his life to God. He pondered how to serve God best. During a 남전도회 service, he felt God’s calling. He heard the words from Matthew 9:35-38. It spoke of teaching and preaching. He realized the church’s role in these acts. He committed to working with 고신 University students in church ministry. He also aimed to create 노방 evangelism teams. These teams would connect with 청십자 medical services. They would provide treatment to those in need. He felt a divine voice urging him to act.
Receiving this call, he wondered what 과연 he should do. He realized he could do this through the church. It was God’s calling. After graduating, he entered seminary. He continued to serve God.
How did he come to lead the immigrant ministry at \ub298\ud478\ub978\uc7a5\ub85c\uad50\ud68c?
After completing studies at 리버티 seminary, he sought a position. He chose Korea. He initially thought of serving in a Korean church. He realized it was God’s timing. He could support his mother. An opportunity arose at \ub298\ud478\ub978\uc7a5\ub85c\uad50\ud68c. He felt God calling him there.
Pastor Han’s vision is rooted in Ezra 7:10. It emphasizes understanding God’s work. Nehemiah 12:43 highlights joyful worship for all ages.
Currently the \ub298\ud478\ub978\uc7a5\ub85c\uad50\ud68c aims to deepen Bible study among its members. Starting in July, they plan to begin reading the Bible 300 times. With 120 교인, they aim for each member to read at least two books. 중직자 are encouraged to read three.
The church encourages 새벽 기도회 and 금요 기도회. They seek a 성령 충만. They believe prayer reveals God’s heart. It should not be just for personal needs.
