In 1937, Bishop Clinton Quin established St James Presbyterian Church. Reverend Thomas Clarkson served as Priest-in-Charge. A year later, Reverend Thomas Bagby took over. Under Reverend Bagby’s guidance, St James Presbyterian Church grew remarkably. By 1940, they erected a new church building. The church officially became a parish in 1941. Reverend Bagby continued to lead the congregation.
