Hamburg-Finkenwerder is Airbus’s largest employer. The Airbus plant is located here. The A300-600 ST Beluga frequently visits. It delivers fuselage parts from Toulouse for final assembly. The entire interior of the A380 is installed here.
Hamburg-Finkenwerder Airport is exclusive to Airbus production. Since the 1970s it has been a major Airbus facility. Since 1993 there has been a final assembly line for Airbus narrow bodies. Spotting rare liveries from Asia and America is possible.

Traffic is unpredictable. Some days offer several highlights. Other days require patience. Workdays are best for visits. Weekend traffic is lighter. Sunday sees almost no activity. School holidays also have reduced traffic. Traffic usually starts after 9 AM.

This happens between the production plant on the runway’s northern side.
Light conditions on the runway are best from 8 AM to 2 PM. Aircraft at the Delivery Center taxiway can be shot from 1 PM to 6 PM in summer. The taxiway to the plant is best from 11 AM.
Infrared sensors are installed along the fence. Avoid holding your camera too high. Stay at least 30 cm from the fence. Public transport can reach major locations. Bus 150 from Bahnhof Altona stops at Am Rosengarten. Bus 146 from Harburg stations stops at Airbus.
There are no restrooms around the airport. Bring your own lunch. Snacks can be bought near the Airbus main gate.
