Rosedale Baptist Church. Can you believe it all started with just 30 people? It is a testament to the power of community and a shared vision.
In August 1993, that small group gathered in the Oaks Subdivision. They met in a member’s building. From that meeting, the vision for Rosedale Baptist Church was born.
Only a week later, the church held its first worship service. The service took place in a store building next to the Rosedale Post Office. For the next three years, this humble space served as their sanctuary. Imagine those early days. The air must have been filled with hope and determination.
The congregation broke ground for their own church building on February 25, 1995. The first service in the basement of the new building was held on December 1, 1996. Around 130 people attended. This marked a significant milestone in the church’s journey.
Finally, on October 11, 1998, Rosedale Baptist Church held its first service in the sanctuary. The first baptismal service followed shortly after, on November 8, 1998. Think about the joy and excitement that filled the air as the church finally had a home.
Rev. Stafford Compton was the first pastor. He served for seven years, from 1993 to 2000. After Rev. Compton, Rev. J.C. Steele served as interim pastor for two years. He was then voted in as the next pastor on October 20, 2002. Since April 2011, Rev. Jeff Kinder has been the pastor.
