Architect Michel Marot expanded the property creating the international fine arts school we see today.

The Centre Nationale d’Art Contemporain was established in 1971. Both the school and the center were officially opened as “la Villa Arson” in 1972. This was by then-Minister of Cultural Affairs Jacques Duhamel. In 2002 the Villa Arson received a prestigious designation. It became a grands établissement for contemporary art.

Villa Arson offers more than just exhibitions. It hosts concerts children’s events and seminars. It has a stage an amphitheater and even sound engineering equipment.
