Can a church truly be international? Here at the Assembleia de Deus Internacional in Porto, that very question comes to life. The Assembleia de Deus Internacional stands as a testament to the global reach of Pentecostalism. It represents a branch of the world’s largest Pentecostal movement, boasting over 70 million members worldwide. The Assembleia de Deus’s story began at the turn of the 20th century. It emerged from an evangelical awakening, embracing the Pentecostal experience described in the Bible’s Book of Acts. Here in Portugal, the Assembleia de Deus has thrived for over 100 years. The Convenção das Assembleias de Deus em Portugal (CADP) oversees a network of more than 400 congregations. This includes the Assembleia de Deus Internacional here in Porto. These churches serve as spiritual homes for over 25,000 people, influencing the lives of over 100,000 individuals. Over 150 pastors and workers dedicate themselves to these congregations. They are supported by 50 evangelists, 150 elders, and 220 deacons and deaconesses. The church’s influence extends internationally, with around 60 missionaries serving abroad. The Assembleia de Deus Internacional, like its sister churches, seeks to renew its strategies. It aims to grow fruitful ministries and nurture collaboration amongst its members. Above all, the Assembleia de Deus Internacional strives to spread the gospel message. It wants to share the hope, freedom, healing, and salvation found in Christ.
