Initially, they assembled Kaiser-Frazer automobiles and Jeeps. Then, in 1960, they started producing Renaults under license. By 1965, IKA was the largest automaker in Argentina. The plant produced 55269 vehicles. That was 28 percent of the nation’s total production.
In 1967, Renault took control. They bought a large percentage of the stock. The company was renamed IKA Renault S.A.I.C.F. In 1975, it became Renault Argentina S.A.

The mural represents the plant’s past, present, and future. It also celebrates the 34 iconic models produced here, like the Gordini, Torino, and Clio.
