Hội Thánh Báptít Việt Nam Sugarland

In 2003, a seed of faith was planted. Right here, the Hội Thánh Báp-tít Việt Nam Sugarland (Sugar Land Vietnamese Baptist Church) began its journey. This independent church is a member of the Union Baptist Association (UBA), within the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT), under the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). Hội Thánh Báp-tít Việt Nam Sugarland started with Pastor Lễ Nguyễn Sơn as the interim pastor. After a year, Pastor Sơn transitioned to another role. Upon graduating from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Pastor Bùi Thế Hiền was called to serve as the current pastor. Initially, the Hội Thánh Báp-tít Việt Nam Sugarland held Sunday services at Sugar Creek Baptist Church. Though Sugar Creek Baptist Church generously provided support, growth and activities were limited by time and space constraints. The church prayed earnestly. God answered their prayers, leading them to a three-acre plot of land. This land was situated west of the Vietnamese community apartments, perfect for building their own sanctuary. Following God’s guidance and with the support of the congregation, the groundbreaking ceremony took place on May 8, 2010. By October 2010, the 5,000-square-foot building was complete. The church included a sanctuary with a capacity of over 250 people, two classrooms, two offices, and a spacious dining area. The Hội Thánh Báp-tít Việt Nam Sugarland is immensely grateful to the Holy Trinity for this beautiful sanctuary. To honor and glorify God, the church held its dedication ceremony on February 19, 2011.
