Dream of a church lasting over 40 years. Finally, that dream became real. The Igreja da Imaculada Conceição de Resende stands before us.
This church is more than just a building. It represents a long-held ambition. The community of Resende waited patiently for this sacred space. Construction began on July 24, 2011. The first stone was blessed in a special ceremony.
The Igreja da Imaculada Conceição de Resende boasts modern architecture. Notice the towering steeple. It marks the site as a symbolic and religious center. The building’s design thoughtfully separates liturgical spaces. There is a distinct entrance. The temple. The presbytery and altar. Also, a baptistery and a courtyard.
The final cost exceeded 800,000 euros. Thirty percent was funded by the Direção-Geral das Autarquias Locais. These funds came through PIDDAC. The Câmara Municipal de Resende also played a vital role.

The State contributed through PIDDAC. The CCDRN also helped. Engineer Ana Amélia managed the project tirelessly. Architects Carlos Negrão and João Coimbra designed the noble space.
The Edilages construction company built the church with professionalism. Casa de Arte Sacra Fânzeres sculpted the image of the patron saint. The Imaculada Conceição embodies beauty and tenderness.
