Emerging from the University of Münster’s scientific prowess, CeNTech stands as a beacon of nanotechnology. CeNTech isn’t just a building. It’s a catalyst. It bridges the gap between groundbreaking research and real-world applications. Founded in 2001, CeNTech’s mission is to foster collaboration and innovation in the nanoworld. The Center for Nanotechnology is one of the first centers of its kind. It partners with institutions like the University of Münster and the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine. This creates a dynamic ecosystem of discovery. CeNTech houses around 120 employees, 13 research groups, and 8 companies within its walls. This vibrant hub has already produced 15 patents, demonstrating its commitment to pushing the boundaries of nanotechnology. CeNTech’s physical space is equally impressive. With approximately 2400 square meters of laboratory and office space, it offers a state-of-the-art environment for researchers. The building includes vibration-free foundations, clean rooms, and a specialized instrument pool. These features cater specifically to the delicate needs of nanotechnological work. Beyond the labs, CeNTech fosters collaboration with seminar rooms, a post facility, digital telecommunication, and social spaces. Its business-oriented division, CeNTech GmbH, helps researchers transform their ideas into marketable products. Backed by investors like the City of Münster and the Sparkasse Münsterland Ost, CeNTech GmbH guides startups through their early years. They provide essential business and technical expertise.
