A wooden memorial plaque was created in his honor in the Sankt-Margareta-Kirche. Wilhelm Wortmann from Eichlinghofen also fell at Ligny. His name was added to the Klemp memorial.
In 1959 the slender west tower of Evangelische Kirche Eichlinghofen was significantly altered. The narrow entrance became the main portal for visitors. Previously it was only used by the sacristan to ring the bells.
