They connected with The Apostolic Church in Bradford England. This connection marked the official birth of The Apostolic Church in Ghana in 1935.
Early days were not without challenges. A doctrinal difference led to a split. This resulted in the formation of the Christ Apostolic Church Ghana in 1938. Despite setbacks the church persevered. It expanded its reach. The headquarters moved to Cape Coast in 1941. Then it moved again to Accra in 1984 a testament to its growth and influence.
Missionaries played crucial roles. Pastor George Perfect visited Asamankese in 1935. Pastor James and Mrs Sophia McKeown served as resident missionaries. Other missionaries from the UK strengthened the church over the years. Their contributions are deeply intertwined with the church’s narrative.

In 1985 Ghana’s Apostolic Church gained autonomy from the UK. Apostle A Ofori-Addo became the first Ghanaian president. Today Apostle Dr Aaron Ami-Narh leads the church.
