Ever wondered what makes Seoul Hansan Elementary School a place of joy? Here we stand before it. This school isn’t just a building. It is a space where bright minds blossom.

Seoul Hansan Elementary School is a primary school with a heart. It aims to give happy feelings when students enter school. It hopes their first impression of arriving at school will be as bright as Hello.

Let’s talk about its architecture. G/O Architecture designed the school to bring joy and play. The architects wanted to change the entrance image. They wanted a school that welcomes children. Not an authoritative school.

Originally, the school was a typical 70-80s elementary school. It had a schoolyard with a podium. Teachers gave speeches there. The building was symmetrical with a porch. But most students used a rare side entry. It was more effective than the main entry.

The project improved the main entry lobby. It became a space for students. The main lobby connects the main entry and the rare entry. Both side entries are now important. The rare entry was once a dark narrow garage. It has changed. It is now a bright and playful welcoming space. The main entry porch now hosts active programs.

Look at the circle patterns. They are adjusted on the floor, wall, and furniture. These circles greet you. They create a welcoming atmosphere. The lobby interior has triangular frames. These frames layer with benches. The benches have various steps. Some parts of the frame have no bench. Green is the exterior point color. Lime is the school’s original base color.

Seoul Hansan Elementary School is more than aesthetics. It also has a strong educational foundation. Hansin is a Private Christian Elementary School. There are six classes in each grade. The school has a manager and a coordinator. It also employs twenty English teachers. Ten are Korean and ten are native speakers.

Imagine being a teacher here. Teachers work Monday to Friday. The working hours are from 8:30 to 16:30. They teach around 20-24 lessons per week. Each class lasts 40 minutes. The school seeks native English speakers. They must be citizens of specific countries. These include the U.S.A, Canada, Australia and others. They need a B.A., B.Ed., or B.Sc. degree. ESL teaching certificates are required.

Seoul Hansan Elementary School focuses on creating a positive environment. The redesign proves it. From the bright entryways to the playful designs it focuses on the students. It’s a place where learning and joy go hand in hand. It welcomes students. It fosters curiosity. It encourages growth.

The school’s transformation embodies its spirit. It changed an authoritative space into one filled with Hello’s. It is a place where every student feels welcomed and inspired.
