This is the reality for students at the Takatsuki Shiritsu Yanagigawa Chugakko, or Takatsuki City Yanagigawa Junior High School as it’s known in English. Situated in the southwestern part of Takatsuki City, this public school opened its doors in April 1973. Since then, Takatsuki Shiritsu Yanagigawa Chugakko has been a cornerstone of the community, nurturing generations of students. This school, with its motto of “independent spirit” encourages students to think for themselves. The vast school grounds are home to 103 classes, buzzing with the energy of young minds. In 1975, just two years after its establishment, the school earned recognition from the Osaka government. It was designated as a “Green Advancement School” for its commitment to environmental education and sustainability. Even today, the emphasis on nature is evident in the school’s lush surroundings and eco-friendly practices.
