“A beacon of faith,” someone might say, standing here before the Chinese Christian Church in Brisbane. This unassuming yet beautiful building, the Chinese Christian Church, holds a special place in the hearts of many Chinese Australians in Brisbane. It all began in the bustling heart of Sunnybank Hills. A group of devout Chinese Christians, seeking a spiritual home, founded the Antioch International Church in 1990. As the congregation grew, so did their need for a larger space. In a decision marked by faith and foresight, they decided to establish two independent churches: the Southside International Church and the Chinese Christian Church. The year 2005 marked a significant milestone when the Chinese Christian Church embarked on a new chapter, laying the foundation for a new building in Rochedale. The community poured their hearts and souls into the project, organizing various fundraising events. Their dedication bore fruit when the new building was completed in March 2009. The Chinese Christian Church found its permanent home in Rochedale. Since then, the church has flourished, a testament to the enduring power of faith and community. It has become a beacon of hope and a place where generations come together to celebrate their faith and heritage.
