Let’s turn back the clock to March 2 1970. On this day Seongnam Jeil Elementary School opened its doors. It was initially known as Seongnam Je1 National School.
Over the years Seongnam Jeil Elementary School has seen several name changes. In 1996 it was renamed Seongnam Je1 Elementary School. Then in 2004 it became Seongnam Jeil Elementary School.

In 2013 Seongnam Jeil Elementary School received recognition. It was lauded as a top 창의경영 school for enhancing academic skills. The Minister of Education lauded the school’s educational and scientific facilities.
The school was designated as a Ministry of Education research school. This happened in 2013 too. It ran for two years with a focus on curriculum and school management. In 2014 Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education recognized it. The school was once again honored for its 창의경영.
In February 2015 Seongnam Jeil Elementary School celebrated its 45th graduation. 111 students graduated that day. The total number of graduates reached 19041.
As of March 1 2015 Byeongseol Kindergarten operated four classes. Dolbom classes consisted of two classes. At that time the school had 23 classes including two special classes.
In March 2023 Mr. Kim Jae-hong became the 21st principal. Also that month the school had 20 classes including one special class. The kindergarten operated four classes. In 2023 Seongnam Jeil Elementary School ran unique educational activities. These included reading education woodworking experiences and swimming.
In April 2023 the school consisted of 22 classes including one special class. The kindergarten maintained four classes. Seongnam Jeil Elementary School continues to evolve. It adapts to meet the needs of its students and community.
