High above Staple Street a cast-iron bridge hangs suspended. This is the Staple Street Skybridge a unique architectural marvel. It’s not just any bridge. It connects two buildings in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood. These buildings once belonged to New York Hospital.

The western building 9 Jay Street was built in 1907. It housed the hospital’s laundry room. The eastern building 60 Hudson Street dates back to 1893.
