Sixty years ago, a unique seed was planted in the fertile ground of Brussels. This seed blossomed into the College of Art & Design, affectionately known as CAD. CAD isn’t just another art school. It’s a vibrant hub where creativity thrives and practical skills are forged. The College of Art & Design opened its doors in 1961. It stands as a testament to a vision of art education that blends theory with real-world practice. CAD offers a range of programs, from interior architecture and design to graphic and digital design, UX design, motion design, and 3D image design. At the College of Art & Design, the learning process is hands-on. Forget dusty lectures and endless note-taking. Here, students learn by doing, guided by professionals who are currently active in their respective fields. This approach ensures that graduates are not just artists, but also prepared professionals. The College of Art & Design boasts a low student-to-teacher ratio. Around 160 students are mentored by approximately 50 teachers. This creates a supportive environment where each student receives personalized attention. Internships are a core part of the CAD experience, starting as early as the first year. Students gain almost a full year of internship experience throughout the five-year program. These internships provide invaluable real-world experience. The student body represents 24 nationalities, creating a diverse and enriching learning environment. Furthermore, CAD encourages international experiences through study trips and workshops, including collaborations with other European schools. Students are also required to complete some internships abroad, broadening their horizons and preparing them for international careers. The College of Art & Design boasts impressive employment statistics. An impressive 98% of graduates find jobs within four months of graduation. They go on to work in various creative fields, from architecture and interior design to advertising and graphic design.
