HUTECH is more than just a university. It is a launchpad for Vietnam’s next generation. Since its establishment, HUTECH has been distributing thousands of top-quality engineers and graduates throughout the years.

Let’s step back in time. April 26, 1995 marks a key moment. The Prime Minister signed Decision No. 235/TTg. This act established Ho Chi Minh City University of Engineering and Technology. That’s the original name of HUTECH.

Fast forward to August 30, 2007. HUTECH became a pioneer in Vietnam. It applied ISO 9001:2000 to all educational and training activities. This commitment shows HUTECH’s dedication to quality.

February 16, 2009 was another milestone. HUTECH gained approval to offer Master’s degree programs. This allowed the university to expand its academic offerings.

October 28, 2009 brought national recognition. The President of Vietnam awarded HUTECH the Third-Class Labor Medal. This recognized HUTECH’s significant contributions to the Vietnamese education system.

The HUTECH Youth Union also earned accolades. On April 21, 2010, they received the Third-Class Labor Medal. This award celebrated their achievements from 2005 to 2009.

November 20, 2010 marked a physical expansion. HUTECH inaugurated its new campus. It is located at 31/36 Ung Van Khiem, Ward 25, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City. This expansion provided modern facilities for students.

HUTECH continued to grow. On March 20, 2013, the HUTECH Institute of High Technology Project was approved. This project covered nearly 5 hectares in Saigon Hi-Tech Park.

Individual contributions were also recognized. On August 23, 2013, Dr. Kieu Tuan received the Third Class Labor Medal. This acknowledged his dedication as an educator.

A name change occurred on October 19, 2013. Ho Chi Minh City University of Engineering and Technology officially became Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.

December 30, 2013 marked further academic advancement. HUTECH gained approval for a doctoral program in Electrical Engineering.

The university continued to expand its doctoral programs. On April 14, 2015, HUTECH was approved to offer a doctoral program in Business Administration.

HUTECH celebrated its 20th anniversary on April 26, 2015. On this occasion, HUTECH was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal by the President.

In 2020, HUTECH marked its 25th anniversary. The university received the First-Class Labor Medal from the President.

International recognition followed. In 2022, HUTECH achieved a 4 Stars rating from QS. This affirmed the university’s quality education.

HUTECH obtained a certificate in 2024. It was granted the Certificate of “Management System for Educational Organizations according to TCVN ISO 21001:2019/ ISO 21001:2018”.

HUTECH stands as a testament to Vietnam’s commitment to technological advancement. Its journey reflects a dedication to quality education and innovation.
