Konstantin Dimopoulos dreamed of a forest, not of green, but of vibrant red. This dream took root in Denver in 2010, at the foot of the Millennium Bridge. Here, the Red Forest Installation pulsates with an energy all its own. The Australian artist envisioned a dynamic sculpture. He used color, vertical forms, and the natural environment to echo a primal past. The red “reeds” stand tall, a stark contrast to the surrounding cityscape. They sway and shift with the Denver wind, creating an ever-changing artwork. The Red Forest Installation isn’t just a static piece. It’s designed to be interactive. Dimopoulos intended for people to move freely among the reeds, experiencing its reflective and almost hypnotic nature. At night, spotlights illuminate the installation, adding another layer to its dramatic presence. The Red Forest Installation earned the title of “Best New Public Art, 2011” by Denver Office of Cultural Affairs and Westword Magazine. This recognition solidified its place as a unique and beloved piece of Denver’s public art scene. The Riverfront Park Community Foundation proudly funded this project, bringing Dimopoulos’s vibrant vision to life.
