Wat Pa Lelai Worawihan is an ancient temple. Many people just call it Wat Pa. This royal monastery dates back centuries. Some say it is over 1200 years old.

King Mongkut, or Rama IV, loved this temple. He restored Wat Pa Lelai Worawihan. He made it one of the most important temples in the region.

Inside Wat Pa Lelai, you will see Luang Pho To. This Buddha image sits in the Pa Lelai posture. It is in the U Thong Suphan Buri style. Luang Pho To stands tall at 23.46 meters. Its circumference measures 11.20 meters.

People come to worship Luang Pho To. They believe it brings blessings. Locals hold a festival twice a year. It celebrates Luang Pho To. The festivals occur during the 5th and 12th lunar months.

Inside Luang Pho To are 36 relics of the Buddha. Phra Maha Thera Lailai obtained them. People in Suphan Buri and nearby areas revere Luang Pho To.

Notice the Khum Khun Chang. It is a large teak Thai house. It is built like Khun Chang’s house. This house comes from the story Khun Chang Khun Phaen.

Inside the Thai house are painted backdrops. Tourists take souvenir photos here. Each room shows scenes from Khun Chang Khun Phaen. Ancient utensils are also on display. See screens and dishes from the past.
