Kidspace Children’s Museum is located less than 10 miles outside Los Angeles. It sits on a beautiful 3.5-acre campus near the historic Rose Bowl. The museum features dozens of hands-on exhibits for children ages 1 to 10.
Since opening its new facility in Brookside Park, Pasadena, in December 2004, Kidspace has been a creative space. It offers interactive learning for local community children. Kidspace Children’s Museum was launched at the California Institute of Technology in 1979.
Outdoor spaces invite children to climb into a giant hawk’s nest. They can splash and play in naturalistic water features. Kids can also bring out their inner musician and get physical with rockets and giant levers. Indoors, children can peek into an active beehive. They create and invent in the Imagination Workshop and explore a giant ant tunnel. Or they can test their courage in challenging climbing towers.
One popular exhibit is Arroyo Pequeño. Here, children can cool off and relax. They meet new California animal friends in the burbling waters. The S. Mark Taper Foundation Early Childhood Learning Center offers sensory and developmental adventures for infants. Muddy Boot Farm invites children to dig into planting, growing, and the farm-to-table movement.
Ramps & Rollers invites you to design and build roadways. Winding Willow Lake has a blue-sand play area with a real boat and toy fish. At Trike Tracks, kids ride tricycles on a twisty mini-highway. Physics Forest puts science into motion with interactive exhibits.
Kidspace collaborates with local artists to bring cultural traditions to the community. These are expressed in creative and colorful ways. The museum also partners with organizations like the Junior League of Pasadena and Nestle Corporation.
Several annual events take place here. These include Butterfly Season, Kidspace Halloween, and Winter Frolic. Bean Sprouts serves healthy snacks and lunch.
Kidspace is more than just a museum. It is a happy place where children can learn and grow through play. So come and explore this special museum. It fuels ideas and rewards curiosity.
