“Imagine learning in a place that was once a tin mine.” That is the story of Sekolah Kebangsaan Pandan Indah. I am thrilled to share its unique history with you. Sekolah Kebangsaan Pandan Indah stands proudly in Jalan Pandan Ilmu. It is located in the heart of Pandan Indah, Kuala Lumpur.
Sekolah Kebangsaan Pandan Indah opened its doors on December 11, 1995. The school’s foundation is quite unique. It was built on a site that was once a tin mine. This transformation from mine to school is a testament to growth.
Initially, Sekolah Kebangsaan Pandan Indah operated temporarily at SMK Pandan Indah. This was while its own building was under construction. In 1998, Sekolah Kebangsaan Pandan Indah finally moved to its permanent location.
The first session in 1996 saw 670 students. There were also 21 teachers. They were spread across 17 classes. The early students came from SK Taman Muda, SK Pandan Jaya, and SK Taman Nirwana.
Sekolah Kebangsaan Pandan Indah is more than just classrooms and books. It is a place of learning and growth. The school’s motto is “Berilmu, Beramal, dan Bertaqwa”. This translates to “Knowledgeable, Practical, and God-fearing”. This reflects the school’s commitment to holistic education.
In 2009, Sekolah Kebangsaan Pandan Indah had 888 boys and 836 girls. This made a total of 1724 students. The school had 88 teachers. As of October 2024, the school has 1721 students and 109 teachers.
Sekolah Kebangsaan Pandan Indah strives to nurture young minds. It provides a stimulating learning environment. The school focuses on building strong foundational skills. This includes literacy, numeracy, STEM, and the arts.
The school also values extracurricular activities. It offers programs like sports, music, and clubs. These activities help students explore their interests. They also develop teamwork and leadership skills.
Sekolah Kebangsaan Pandan Indah is committed to inclusivity. It has a special integration program. This program supports students with special needs. It helps them thrive in a supportive environment.
Over the years, several individuals have served as headmasters. They include Tuan Haji Said bin Haji Sidin and Puan Aishah bt. Abdul Ghani. Others are Pn. Salma bt. Deraman, Pn. Nik Aziah bt. Nik Yusof, and Tuan Azmi Bin Zakaria. Tuan Azmi Bin Zakaria began his service on August 15, 2011.
