What kind of school produces a championship-winning track team, a champion tennis team, AND a champion cross-country team? The Briarwood School, right here in Houston, is the answer! Now, The Briarwood School isn’t your typical school. Founded in 1967 by Yvonne and Dave Streit, it was born from a very personal need: a place where their daughter, who had a learning disability, could thrive. The Streits couldn’t find what they needed, so they built it themselves, right here in their own backyard. Over the years, The Briarwood School has blossomed into a beacon for students with learning differences. It’s a place where dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD – they don’t define you. They refine the approach taken to help you succeed. The school’s dedication to individualized learning plans and tailored instruction is remarkable. It’s no surprise that Briarwood has seen many students go on to achieve great things – including winning those championships I mentioned!
