Nestled in Nette the Evangelisches Familienzentrum Glockenturm offers a unique story. It is a story of change and adaptation. It is a story of community.

The Evangelisches Familienzentrum Glockenturm stands on ground with a past. This location was once home to an Evangelische Kirche. This church had a prominent Glockenturm. The Glockenturm was a landmark for generations.

Over time the community evolved. The need for a new kind of space arose. A space dedicated to families and children. A place for growth and support.

In November 2023 the Evangelisches Familienzentrum Glockenturm opened its doors. It was built on the former Kirchplatz. The Evangelische Kirche with its Glockenturm had to make way.

The name of the new center honors its past. The team didn’t have to think long about naming it Glockenturm. The name is a reminder of what once stood here. It symbolizes continuity.

Initially the center started with five groups. These groups catered to children aged 0 to 6. A month later the Kinderarche family center joined. This added three more groups for children aged 3 to 6. Now the Kita cares for 150 children.

In June 2024 the Glockenturm celebrated its official opening. Many people from the surrounding area attended. They came to celebrate this new beginning.

Key figures from the Evangelische Kirchenkreis Dortmund were present. Christoph Müller and Karin Wandelt showed their support. Renate Jäckel a local pastor also attended.

Local politicians also marked their presence. Axel Kunstmann Detlef Adam and Richard Utech were there. They all recognized the importance of this new facility.

The Kita team the parents and the advisory board worked hard. They wanted to make everyone feel welcome. They organized games and activities for the children. Parents and relatives provided food and drinks.

The Förderverein played a key role. They organized a tombola. The prizes included BVB fan items. The tombola was very popular. All tickets were sold quickly.

Visitors could tour the Kita in small groups. Annika Saremba and Manuela Leupold led the tours. They offered insights into the Kita’s philosophy.

The Familienbüro Mengede supported the event. They brought a bouncy castle. They also had an information stand.

Andreas Schwarz and his Feuerwehr Nette team came with two fire engines. They set up a water spray wall and fire hose providing fun. The Feuerkünstler Till Goertz amazed the audience with his show. The Familienrockband KraWallo provided musical entertainment.

The Evangelisches Familienzentrum Glockenturm is more than just a building. It is a symbol of community. It is a space for children to learn and play. It represents the changing face of Dortmund Nette. It carries the memory of the Glockenturm.
