The school became Gesamtschule Öjendorf in 1978. In 2010, it was then reborn as Stadtteilschule Öjendorf during Hamburg’s school reforms.

From 2012 to 2014, renovations modernized the facilities. A new extension with larch wood and bright brick replaced an older section. This cost around 4.1 million EUR. Further improvements are in the works. The single-field Seitzhalle will become a double-field sports hall.
Stadtteilschule Öjendorf is a full-day school. The school day runs from 8 AM to 4 PM. Short breaks after each hour-long lesson refresh minds. These languages are offered from years 7 and 11. The school promotes international understanding with student exchanges to Tel Mond in Israel.
