Ben Hill Park

Ben Hill Park, a 13.6-acre community green space in Atlanta’s Southwest, makes a big contribution to the neighborhood. It’s a place where families can relax and spend quality time together. Ben Hill Park has been part of the community since 1941. Originally built by Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal Project, it was one of the first public spaces created to give locals a place to move around and rest during difficult times. Since then, it’s gone through lots of changes, but it still holds onto its old charm. It’s home to a full-size basketball court, a playground, and even a swimming pool, and a picnic area under a pavilion. And while you may see a few picnic parties and kids enjoying the basketball court, the park is actually bigger than you think. It’s also home to a large recreation center! It’s a place for indoor activities like computer labs, meeting rooms, and even fitness classes. But it’s the outdoor activities that really bring people together, especially the sports! The park has everything you need, from tennis and basketball to a sprawling field where local residents gather every year for the annual Ben Hill Day reunion. It truly is a neighborhood focal point.
