Wow Lauderbach Park has undergone quite a transformation. Just look around you. This wasn’t always such a vibrant place.
Lauderbach Park in Chula Vista is more than just a park. It’s a testament to community spirit and revitalization. For over a year it was closed for major renovations. The result is truly impressive.
Before its makeover Lauderbach Park was a simpler place. It had a large grassy area a basketball court and restrooms. Now however it boasts brand new state-of-the-art amenities. There are new basketball courts. These can be easily converted into pickleball courts. You just need to bring your own net. There’s also a fantastic synthetic turf multi-purpose field perfect for various sports and activities. Evenings are well lit. The park now has two tot lots designed for younger children. Conveniently located restrooms and picnic areas ensure everyone’s comfort.
The renovation wasn’t cheap. A $1 million state parks grant and $820000 from Measure P a local sales tax funded the project. Rick Engineering designed the park’s new layout. 3Sixty Innovations handled the construction. Their collaboration created a beautiful and functional space.
The park is more than just recreation. An adjacent building is leased by South Bay Community Services. They provide valuable services to the local community. Lauderbach Park truly serves as a hub for both recreation and community support.
Lauderbach Park reopened in July 2023. The grand reopening was a huge success. Mayor John McCann Councilmember Andrea Cardenas and other city officials attended. Their presence highlighted the city’s commitment to enhancing recreational spaces.
