Established in 1973 the Casablanca American School boasts a rich history. It wasn’t just another school. It was the first in North Africa to offer the International Baccalaureate program. That’s a significant achievement. Imagine the groundbreaking spirit it took to establish such a program in a new setting.

Initially a kindergarten through eighth-grade institution a partnership between the Goodyear Corporation and the American Consulate General in Casablanca marked its beginning near the Corniche beach. The school’s early years saw it move several times. First to Place Bel Air then to Ouled Bouzid. Each move reflected its growth and expanding student population. The Ouled Bouzid building purchased in 1984 quickly proved too small for the burgeoning student body.

By 1984 a secondary school section grades nine through twelve was added. Can you picture the excitement as the school expanded its offerings? The 1985 school year saw approximately 131 students. Thirty-one were in grades seven through ten. The school’s journey from a small villa by the sea to a sprawling campus with 700 students is truly remarkable.

Since 1989 the Casablanca American School has called its current location in Californie home. Its growth is a testament to the community’s commitment to education and international collaboration. Today the school prides itself on being a close-knit community where students and parents alike feel a sense of belonging. The school continues to serve the educational needs of American Moroccans and other nationalities. It offers a challenging and rewarding curriculum. It remains a leader in international education throughout the region. The Casablanca American School is more than just a school. It’s a place of learning growth and international understanding. A place where students not only learn but also thrive.
