“9 AM service. Already?” Imagine the bells ringing, calling parishioners to Our Saviour Church. Our Saviour Church stands here in Salak South. It is a beacon of faith for this community in Kuala Lumpur.
Our Saviour Church offers several services. There is a 9 AM service. Another service begins at 10:30 AM for adults. A youth service also starts at 10:30 AM for those aged 13 to 17. Children aged 7 to 12 can attend their own worship. Even pre-schoolers aged 4 to 6 have a service tailored for them.
Lim Cheng Ean served as Diocesan Bishop until 2007. After retirement, God still called him to serve. He became Chairman of St. Mark’s Cozy Home for a year. For two years, he was Honorary Acting Vicar of All Saints’ Church. If he was in Kuala Lumpur, he took Holy Communion Services. These services were in English and Cantonese.
Lim Cheng Ean and his wife cared for their grandchildren. They looked after grandchildren in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. They helped care for three grandchildren. They also cared for two granddaughters in Singapore.
Their children took them on holidays. They visited Vietnam, China, Europe and Korea. They felt blessed by their family’s care.
Lim Cheng Ean is grateful for good health. He has managed diabetes for over 25 years. His wife, Amy, had two surgeries. They have regular medical check-ups. They carefully manage their savings. God guides them to meet their expenses.
Each day, they pray and read God’s word. They seek His guidance. This is for their daily work and family. They also pray about happenings around the world. Lim Cheng Ean finds time to study the Bible in depth.
They are grateful to God. He keeps them occupied. He meets their needs. This is true even in difficult times. They honor Him and He honors them. This is their faith in their ministry.
