Brother Kim Williams, sent from Grace Landmark M.B.C. in Memphis, Tennessee, laid the first stones of this spiritual haven, envisioning a place where the gospel would reach the hearts of Houstonians. True Light Missionary Baptist Church was founded on the principle of spreading the word of God, nurturing disciples, and extending a helping hand to those in need. The church aimed to break the cycle of sin and guide families towards serving God. Since 1995, True Light Missionary Baptist Church has been instrumental in sharing the gospel with thousands. In 2015, Reverend Anthony Fabian Halley, II, a native of Detroit, took the helm as pastor, succeeding Reverend John Bowie, Sr. Reverend Halley, with a Bachelor of Arts from Dallas Baptist University and an Associate degree in Business Management, brought a new wave of energy and vision. His journey into ministry began at the young age of 14 under the mentorship of Dr. Jerome Kirby. Reverend Halley’s leadership at True Light Missionary Baptist Church aims to create a thriving environment where disciples can worship and delve into God’s word.
