The architecture sets Shri Gufa Mandir apart. It is built inside a natural cave-like structure. The temple has a raw and rustic appeal. Its walls are rough and uneven. Stalactites and stalagmites adorn the ceiling. This creates a mystical atmosphere.
Shri Gufa Mandir has several chambers. Each chamber is dedicated to a different deity. The main chamber has a large statue of Lord Shiva. He is in his Nataraja form. Smaller statues of other Hindu gods surround him. Intricate carvings and paintings decorate the walls. They show scenes from Hindu mythology.

The large cave gives the feel of Vaishno Devi temple. Inside the cave are statues of Maa Vaishno Devi and Lord Hanuman. At the cave’s exit is a statue of Lord Bharonnath. An idol of Lord Shiva sits on top of the cave.

The temple has a 140-foot-long cave. Since the temple’s construction, a holy flame burns. Besides this, the temple has a 56-kilogram Shivling. It has 12 jyotirlingas. It is 24 feet wide and 16 feet high.
A unique feature here is the presence. Not only of Durga Mata. But also idols of Hanuman, Ganesha and Shiva.
The temple tries to recreate the Vaishno Devi cave. Vinod Sharma once visited Vaishno Devi. He noticed many devotees could not visit Vaishno Devi. So, he thought to build a temple in Delhi for them. Construction began in 1994. It finished in 1996.
Shri Gufa Mandir is open every day. It is open from 5 AM to 12 PM and 5 PM to 9 PM. There is no entry fee. Donations are welcome. Remove your shoes before entering. Photography is not allowed inside.
