Phường Văn Quán wasn’t always a vibrant part of Hanoi’s Ha Dong District. Under the Nguyen Dynasty it existed as a small village. It was part of the larger Thanh Oai Thuong area. It nestled on the Son Nam Thuong plains. Imagine farmers tilling the land. Life was simpler then.
After 1945 Văn Quán merged with neighboring villages. These were Mộ Lao Cầu Đơ and Hà Trì. They became part of Hà Đông district. Văn Quán remained a rural outpost.
In 1965 Văn Quán joined forces with Mộ Lao Yên Phúc and Xa La. Together they formed Văn Yên commune. This was still within the Hà Đông district.
The story continues. A pivotal moment occurred in 1994. The government issued Decree 52-CP. This split Văn Yên commune into Văn Mộ and Phúc La wards. Văn Quán now became part of Văn Mộ.
Further changes happened. In 2008 a new decree was passed. Decree 23-2008-ND-CP. This split Văn Mộ ward into two. Phường Văn Quán finally achieved its independent status. It covered 139.6 hectares. Its population was 12547.
Today Phường Văn Quán thrives. It’s a strategically located ward. It borders Thanh Trì district and Thanh Xuân district. It also connects to other wards. The ward boasts an extensive road network. Major roads such as Trần Phú connect it to the wider region. The ward benefits from the continuous development of Hanoi. This includes planned infrastructure improvements. The property market reflects this growth. Areas like Đường Láng and Phố Văn Quán are prime real estate. Prices range from 8.5 million to 25.5 million VND per square meter.
