Aabe Hayaat Hellas is a testament to faith, resilience, and the power of community. Aabe Hayaat Hellas began its journey in 2018. A late pastor, Johann, and his wife, Grace, were in Turkey when they felt a calling to visit Athens. They spent a single day in the city. They were struck by the numerous opportunities to minister to the refugee population. Many refugees, arriving daily on the Greek islands, were encountering Christianity.
Pastor Johann felt a powerful connection to John 4:38. He believed he was destined to “reap that for which you did not labor.” He returned to Athens with Grace in March 2019. They found a community eager for spiritual guidance. They began to build a “Kingdom family.” They shared meals, prayed together, and studied the Word. They created a vibrant community reminiscent of the early Acts church. Tragically, Pastor Johann passed away in April 2019, shortly after establishing Aabe Hayaat Hellas. His legacy, however, lived on. He inspired numerous young people to dedicate their lives to ministry. He demonstrated unwavering devotion to his faith.
Grace returned to Athens in October 2019. She sought guidance for the future of Aabe Hayaat Hellas. She felt a profound responsibility to continue the work Johann had started. Aabe Hayaat Hellas continued to grow. The organization renovated a ministry center and apartment in April 2022. This provided a dedicated space for worship and a home for those working in the ministry. Aabe Hayaat Hellas also offers virtual gatherings, English tutoring, and summer programs for children and teens. The vision of Aabe Hayaat Hellas is to cultivate disciples and disciple-makers. Their mission is to share the Gospel with those seeking refuge in Athens and beyond. Aabe Hayaat Hellas continues to be a beacon of hope and faith in the heart of Athens. It is a testament to the enduring power of community and the transformative power of belief.
