Why is Bellara called “good”? That’s what the name means in the language of the original inhabitants, the Aboriginal people. Bellara occupies a prime spot on the western side of Bribie Island. This charming suburb is lapped by the waters of the Pumicestone Channel, which separates the island from the mainland.
