Linden S.T.E.A.M. Academy

It began as simply Linden School, a more traditional institution. With over 750 students bustling through its halls, Linden School was a vital part of the Malden community. In 2001, a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation allowed the school to split into two smaller, autonomous entities, one for K-4 and the other for grades 5-8. This restructuring aimed to foster a more focused learning environment. Linden School had a strong focus on gifted education, with programs tailored to students with particular talents in communications, humanities, and multimedia. These programs used innovative teaching methods, integrating technology and project-based learning to engage students. In 2012, Linden School underwent a significant transformation. It embraced innovation and emerged as the Linden S.T.E.A.M. Academy. The new curriculum emphasized project-based learning, encouraging students to explore, experiment, and create.
