Craving a unique blend of technology and management education? You have arrived at the Northern Institute of Technology Management. This institute arms students with skills to shape tomorrow’s world. The Northern Institute of Technology Management NIT is not just another business school. It is a place where engineers and scientists become leaders.

Founded in 1998 by 40 professors from the Hamburg University of Technology TUHH, the Northern Institute of Technology Management NIT started as the Northern Institute of Technology. The institute added Management to its name in 2007. Hauke Trinks, former president of TUHH, was the first president. He laid the foundation for its innovative approach.

The NIT’s motto is Be the Change. It reflects the institute’s commitment to fostering innovation. The institute offers an English-language master’s program in Technology Management. Students can earn an M.A. or MBA. The NIT also provides professional training courses and workshops. These programs equip graduates to tackle leadership roles. They learn to manage technology sustainably.

Imagine students collaborating on projects that blend technical expertise with management insights. The Technology Management program is accredited by FIBAA and the Deutschen Akkreditierungsrat. It is an official program of the Hamburg University of Technology TUHH. The program takes 24 to 30 months. Students can pursue a Master of Arts M.A. or Master of Business Administration MBA part-time. A double master’s degree is also an option. This combines an M.Sc. in engineering or natural sciences from TUHH.

MyProject is the program’s core. Here, students develop an entrepreneurial mindset. They refine projects throughout the program. These projects can evolve into real business ideas. The Northern Institute of Technology Management NIT uses a Flying Faculty. Lecturers come from international universities and companies. They provide specialized knowledge for individual modules.

Since 2014, the NIT has offered professional training. Workshops, lectures, and seminars enhance skills. Companies can also book in-house programs. The NIT Toolbox covers new technologies, digital competence, and innovative methods. It also addresses people and culture. Topics include digitalization, global management, and design thinking. Participants learn to implement digital transformation and IT security.

Since 2017, the NIT hosts the Hamburg Economic Dialog. Executives and entrepreneurs discuss the future of work at this quarterly event. Topics like Industry 4.0 and IT safety have been explored. This free forum takes place in various locations.

The Hauke Trinks Award honors the NIT’s founder. It rewards outstanding student work. Bachelor students in STEM fields from Hamburg universities can win. They must demonstrate scientific curiosity and interdisciplinary approaches.

The Northern Institute of Technology Management NIT building is on the Hamburg University of Technology campus. Many students live in the building’s 65 apartments. An artwork by Peter Friedl in the foyer explores the theme nobody knows science. Rooms are available for conferences and workshops.
