Rosemont Baptist Church has a rich history deeply rooted in faith and community service. Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1902. Christian laborers of faith established it and backed it by prayer. The first pastor was Reverend T. Wesley. Brother Johnny Thomas served as the church secretary. Initially, Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church was on Alameda Street. It was in the Third Ward Community. Later, the church moved to its current location. This was at 3029 Holman Street. Reverend W. M. Sykes led this move. He was the pastor for forty-six years.
Under Reverend Sykes’ leadership, the church rebuilt on August 23, 1925. After Reverend Sykes died, Reverend M. T. Banks Jr. became the pastor. The church has a clear mission. It aims to provide worship. It aims to create experiences for its members. It serves the Christian community in Houston. The church wants to celebrate the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
