“Glorifying Christ, Discipling His people”. That’s the central mission of GMI Gloria Bengkong Baru. Here, the aim is to fulfill God’s purpose. This involves guiding people to know Christ. It also means glorifying His name.

In 2021-2022, Pdt. Dion Hutagalung served here. He holds M.Div. and M.A. degrees. Assisting him were Pdt. Tri Susanti and GI. Michael Tarihoran.
Last year, the children of GMI Gloria Bengkong Baru celebrated Christmas. They did so with joy. They participated in the Sunday School Christmas event. It was a delightful afternoon on December 11, 2022.
The celebration began with a musical drama. It depicted the birth of Jesus Christ. He is the Savior of mankind. After the drama, the younger children performed a dance.
There were also musical performances. The Sunday school choir sang. They included the younger kids. Also singing were older kids and the Sunday school teachers. Parents watched their children perform. They felt proud and happy.
A candle lighting ceremony took place. Pastors and church leaders participated. Sunday school teachers and parents also took part. Representatives of the children and the Christmas committee joined in. The whole congregation participated. The attendees sang “Silent Night” as the candles glowed. A child played the pianica. This added to the sacred atmosphere.
Pdt. Sonda Tobing preached about the birth of Jesus. He explained that Jesus saves humanity. Sin creates a gap between people and God. He said that sin separates us from God. It includes all acts of disobedience.
God loved the world so much. He gave His only Son. Everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life. This is written in John 3:16. Pdt. Sonda Tobing said God gave us Jesus. We celebrate His birth today. He is born in our hearts. All who believe live in God.
Pdt. Dion Hutagalung closed the Sunday School Christmas event. He is the pastor of GMI Gloria Bengkong. He ended the service with a prayer and blessing.
